The circus is a place where illusion and spectacle take us out of our everyday existence. This series exposes the everydayness of the circus. The driving force behind all Andreas work is to investigate lives far removed from her own until she uncovers something universal in what she observes.
These candid snaps were taken over the course of a summer that Andrea spent with the circus. She spent time with them every time they performed in the city somewhere, getting to know the people and the pattern of their lives.
